Firetruck Fun Friday

Firetruck Fun Friday was a hit! 

We played with our wooden firehouse, 

did puzzles,

read books,

.  

played inside our fire tent with tools and our firebear.

 

We love going outside to drive the fire truck with fire boots and raincoat on, even on sunny days!

We love listening to the Hurry, Hurry, Drive the Firetruck song and video.

We like doing this Melissa & Doug Giant Fire Truck Floor Puzzle often.

Even Firefighters Go to the Potty: A Potty Training Lift-the-Flap Story is another favorite book that isn't pictured here. It shows people of many different professions using the potty.

This one is another favorite:

My husband is a firefighter, so we have been fortunate to take family trips to the firehouse as well as have him come in as a guest speaker. He reads this book to my fourth graders.

Digging Dinosaurs

We are digging dinosaurs today, and every day. 

The day started out with a fun preview. My son went right for the dino figures and puzzles, which are now too easy for him.

Next up where the books. 

My son loves his Old Mac Dino book! He thinks it's so funny and has started remembering names.

We listened to songs 

Dinosaur Stomp

We also watched Dinosaur Train videos, played the games, and looked at the fun printables, too.

and stomped like dinos. 

Then we used Do a Dot markers and fuzzy balls to find and make the letter D 

  

and played with our Melissa & Doug reusable stickers. 

Dino nuggets were a hit, and we also ate eggs and veggies like some dinosaurs did.

This Dinosaur Bath Toy was such a hit!

We went from one set of dino pajamas in the morning to another at night!

Earth Day activities

Happy Earth Day! 

We raised 5 butterflies from our Eric Carle Insect Lore kit and released them today! 

   

We also crawled through tunnels like caterpillars, 

and did Do-a-Dot caterpillars.

We also listened to some silly songs, 

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Song

made fuzzy caterpillars with pom poms,

 

and played with our caterpillar in the chrysalis (Jack in a box).

We knew that butterflies need a temp above 55 degrees Fahrenheit to be released, so we made a sugar water mixture and gave them fruit for two days before it was warm enough.

We played piano,

put stamps on postcards for Mommy’s students, 

played with pigs on the farm, 

did a virtual farm trip, 

and watched Charlotte’s Web. 

We tried to make pig mud with finger paint (my kid hates to get dirty) and then ate chocolate "pig" pudding for dessert.
