Blue Ridge Babies 1, 2, 3: A (Non-babyish) Counting Book

My son and I were perusing the library shelves after story time and we came across a book titled Blue Ridge Babies 1, 2, 3. It had a cute cover and we have been working on addition, subtracting, and counting as well as reading number words, so I decided to look it over. Seeing the cute pictures and words were written in word form meant it went into our large check out pile. When I got it home, it was so much more than a book to read with my preschooler!

Buy the Book  or watch the  Video

For those of you homeschooling, or teaching PreK-3, this book has so much to offer, including a song! I made a printable activity that I did with my son, and here is what we covered.

Click the images above or here to download.

If I was using this with my fourth grade class, we would locate the Blue Ridge on Google Earth. I'd ask, "Where else might a biome like this be found in America? Where might it be found in the rest of the world?" Then we would make our own books for other biomes.

Snag a free book template by clicking the image below or here. It's editable, so you can share a copy on Google Classroom, via email, or even adapt and print a copy for students to write and draw on.

P is for Potty Printables

Are you potty training a toddler or preschooler or learning about the letter P?

Here are some fun activities we have done.
This pack includes:
P is for Potty Do-a-Dot and pom pom page
P is for Potty uppercase and lowercase letter maze
Potty word search for older kids
4 Potty Bingo game cards
Potty Bingo calling / Memory Match cards

I also made 3 fun Sesame Street potty charts as well as Paw Patrol and Thomas the tank engine ones.

We love to play Abby & Elmo's Potty Plan game on the iPad. The Sesame Street site also has some fun printable, like this potty maze!

We watch the very short Time to Wash Your Hands! video.

played a Music Memory game,

and sorted instruments by how they are played on BrainPop Jr.

Daddy even got in on the fun!
Like always, we listened to tons of music. Here is our "eating" playlist.

Ben’s Trumpet was our book of the day,

we did Dot a Dot M to differentiate between upper and lowercase letters,

and coloring wasn’t happening, but I did find this adorable M is for Music coloring page.

Another fun game we found is called Monster Music. Sesame Street characters explore real and created instruments.

We finished off the night with the Disney Family Singalong! It originally aired on ABC, but it's free in its entirety on Disney+ if you have it!

Ernie Puts the Duckie Down” is a classic Sesame Street video and song.
Look for some celebrity cameos!

All You Need is a Song” is another favorite over here, especially with one of my favorite country bands, Sugarland.

What are your favorite musical activities? We'd love to hear about them in the comments below.
